The company has boldly claimed that the Swift Edge is the lightest 16-inch OLED laptop in the world, as it only weighs around 1.17kg which is matched by its ultra-slim height of 12.95mm. As per some of the previous Swift models, the secret to its lightweight nature is the usage of magnesium-aluminium as the building material for its chassis. [Image: Acer.] As for the laptop’s display itself, the OLED panel has a native 4K (3840 x 2400) resolution alongside 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. In addition to having a peak brightness level of 500nits and sub-0.2ms response time, it is also a VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500-certified display. Another interesting characteristic regarding the Swift Edge is the fact that it carries a Microsoft Pluton security processor that allows for a hardware-based secure subsystem for the laptop. Not all processor can work hand-in-hand with Pluton though, hence that is why the Swift Edge comes with AMD Ryzen 6000 Series processor too which support the dedicated security chip. Given Acer’s choice of these processors, it seemed that the company is aiming the Swift Edge at business users although we reckoned a wide range of users could definitely appreciate its thin and light form factor. Meanwhile, the Swift Edge has an operational time of up to 7.5 hours which is provided by a 3-cell 54Wh battery. Available immediate from Acer Malaysia eStore and authorized Acer dealers all over the country, the Swift Edge can be obtained with an AMD Ryzen 5 6600U, 8GB LPDDR5 memory, and 512GB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe solid state drive for RM5,299. For those who prefer a beefier spec, there is also the variant with AMD Ryzen 7 6800U, 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD which costs RM6,299.
