Apple released iOS 12.1.2 earlier on Monday, with an update to that being released just earlier today. It was an update so minor that both are referred to as iOS 12.1.2, with the differences being their build number. The update on Monday comes with the build number 16C101, while the one released today is labeled 16C104.
That said, TechSpot reports that a number of iPhone users who have updated to the second build have found that the phone’s basic mobile functions of their phones have been crippled. This means that the affected iPhones can’t make calls, send SMS or even use LTE data. Some are even experiencing issues with WiFi connectivity. Incidentally, those who have updated to the earlier build 16C101 of iOS 12.1.2 are not able to update to the problematic second build. On that note, those who have had the rare stroke of luck of not being able to update their iPhone should wait this one out. At least until Apple release the iOS 12.1.3 update.
