At a glance, these new models looked almost identical to their predecessor but rest assured, ASUS has certainly implemented plenty of changes into them. For example, both ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro come with a larger 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display that also has a higher brightness level at 700nits and better colour gamut coverage.
As per what we have seen on these leaked footages, ASUS has retained the ZenFone 6’s Flip Camera module for ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro. However, the module has been upgraded with three cameras which is inclusive of a 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera, a 12MP Sony IMX363 ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom as well as 12x digital zoom. Just like ZenFone 6, the ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro are also equipped with 5000mAh battery although they are accompanied by a 30W charger instead of 18W unit as per their 2019’s counterpart. The fingerprint reader on this year’s models have also been relocated to the right side of their body and also acts as a power button. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, the ZenFone 7 with 6GB/128GB configuration is priced at NTD 21990 (~RM 3124) while the 8GB/128GB variant goes for NTD 23990 (~RM 3408). On another hand, the ZenFone 7 Pro which is running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage can be obtained for NTD 27990 (~RM 3,976). At this moment, it is not known if these new ZenFone 7 devices will make their way to Malaysia. Since ASUS didn’t release ZenFone 6 in Malaysia, we don’t think ZenFone 7 series will be released here either and ASUS will likely give its full attention to launch ROG Phone 3 in our market instead.
