In terms of specifications, the camera itself mildly differs from the standard EOS R. It’s packed with the same 30.3MP full-frame CMOS sensor, a 3.69M-dot OLED Electronic Viewfinder (EVF), dot-matrix LED panel, a magnesium-alloy body, and RF lens mount, to name a few things.
Similarities aside, the EOS Ra features a modified IR filter that allows it to capture – if you’ll pardon the pun – far more stellar deep sky and night sky images compared to the standard EOS R. It also offers magnifications of up to 30x in the EVF and Live View that helps you to precisely focus on subjects, such as star clusters.
According to the pre-order page on Adorama.com, the Canon EOS Ra is priced at US$2500 (~RM10340) and will be released in the US sometime in early December. On the other hand, Canon Malaysia has not specified local availability for the EOS Ra. (Source: PetaPixel)
