The brand new academy is set to offer industry-oriented training and guaranteed career opportunities for youths. It boasts accreditation by the Department of Skills Development under the Ministry of Human Resources as a Sistem Latihan Dual Nasional (SLDN) training centre. Carsome co-founder and Carsome Academy Director Teoh Jiun Ee said, “Carsome has built a trusted platform over the years which we are proud of. Now, we want to bring that pride to more people working in the industry through an accredited and industry-recognised training and assessment, equipped with the best digital tools available.” Its inaugural intake starts in February 2021 and the academy currently offers the Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Inspection (Roadworthiness) which is recognised by the Malaysian government as well as the local industry. Accordingly, students will split their time between theoretical lessons (30%) at Carsome Academy and industrial training (70%) at Carsome Inspection Centers in Malaysia.
Students can look forward to 1,840 hours of industry training to hone their technical skill sets and strengthen their capabilities. Crucially, upon graduation, they are guaranteed a job in Carsome. While the one-year course costs RM8000, it will be refunded back to students once they graduated and completed their tenure at Carsome.
