Today, a long-time star of the franchise, Vin Diesel shared a video of himself and Cena on Instagram on what appears to be Cena’s last day of filming. In the video, Diesel in his usual slurry tone, talked about how John Cena’s last day is a bittersweet moment for him and the crew and that his costar delivered an incredible performance. Cena’s role in the film has been kept under wraps. We have no idea if he’ll be playing a character akin to Luke Hobbs (Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson) or if he’ll be another one of Dominic Toretto’s rich-in-personality crew members. In the video with Diesel, Cena teases fans without revealing anything.
Fast & Furious 9 is set to hit theatres 21 May 2020.
