At least where the story is concerned, the first two games provide a lot to work with. Similar to the Ghost of Tsushima film, Horizon would work quite nicely by scrapping some of the side quests that provide minor upgrades, though one can see the Hunting Grounds being kept for story reasons. Similarly, the God of War series has a long history of tearing up the realm of Greek mythology. The reboot which brought Kratos to the Norse side of things would probably suffice for a movie, so it would be interesting to see what the showrunners do with the IP.
— David Gibson (@gibbogame) May 26, 2022 All that being said, things are bound to be a little weird with Gran Turismo, which has traditionally no story to speak of. Chances are it will be given the Need for Speed treatment, with characters and locales being made up just to showcase the cars and the driving. Beyond these, Sony already has adaptations of The Last of Us and Twisted Metal in the works. While the latter doesn’t yet have a release date, the former is expected to be out as early as next year.
