As mentioned, eligible devices are those that have been released in 2017 or before. That being said, not all devices from back then will be eligible, depending on what you’re looking to replace. For example, you can get the mainboard of a Huawei Mate 10 Pro replaced, but not its LCD screen, for example. The option to have both replaced is available for the standard Mate 10, for instance. Select HONOR devices are also eligible to have either the display, mainboard or back cover replaced. Again, depending on what device you’re looking at, some parts may be available while others are not.
For this service, Huawei Malaysia says you can have an LCD screen, back cover and mainboard replaced from RM99, RM69 and RM159 onwards, respectively. For eligible devices of either brand, if you’re looking to get either the display or the mainboard replaced, you can pay an additional RM9 to get the back cover changed to a new one as well. The entire promo starts on 12 August, and ends on 1 October 2020. It’s definitely nice that you can have the mainboard or screen of old devices replaced for such prices. But oddly enough, Huawei Malaysia is not offering the option to replace their batteries as well. That would go very nicely with a mainboard replacement to ensure an older device works almost as good as new. (Source: Huawei Malaysia)
