For the uninitiated, Chainlink is a decentralised blockchain oracle network built on Ethereum that was first introduced in 2017. This network is intended to be used to facilitate the transfer of tamper-proof data from off-chain sources to on-chain transaction protocols known as smart contracts. According to its creators, Chainlink can be used to verify whether the parameters of a smart contract are met in a manner independent from any of the contract’s stakeholders by connecting the contract directly to real-world data, events, payments, and other inputs. At the time of writing, LINK is currently valued at RM 30.08 a unit. Meanwhile, Uniswap is a cryptocurrency exchange that, much like Chainlink, relies on a decentralised network protocol based on Ethereum. Similarly, its protocol facilitates automated transactions between crypto tokens on the Ethereum blockchain through the use of smart contracts. At the time of writing, One UNI unit is currently valued at RM18.78. Luno users can buy, sell and store both LINK and UNI currencies on its app and website starting today, alongside its existing cryptocurrency offerings. The company notes that even though both of these new additions meet Luno standards for safety, their listing is not an endorsement of its future potential as an investment. “While it’s important to note that these newer crypto applications are still in their early stages, we believe it is important that we give investors access to them while offering the careful guidance and rigorous security that we are known and trusted for,” said Tang. “Our priority remains to ensure the same simple and secure experience that has enabled it to successfully support investors worldwide as they get started with cryptocurrency.” To commemorate the launch of these new offerings, Luno is offering investors 50% off Instant Buy and Sell, as well as reduced exchange fees for both Chainlink and Uniswap from now until 20 July 2022. You can check out the exchange’s official website for further details regarding this promotion. (Source: Luno Malaysia press release)
