KKMNOW can probably be considered an expansion of the COVIDNOW website, which only displays data related to COVID-19. With this new website, people can access data on other things like blood availability, organ donation and hospital bed utilisation. More data, such as those on ambulance response time, medicine stock and mortality are to be added down the line. Khairy says that KKMNOW is a “living website”, and that “new data sets will be introduced every week for the next few weeks”. The minister also says that he hopes this will encourage other ministries to share their data. According to the New Straits Times, this makes the Ministry of Health the first ministry to provide an open data source to the public. The report also states that the ministry hopes to include road accident data and floods to KKMNow as well. Relating these to the purview of the Health Ministry, the report quotes the minister as saying that accidents may have casualties, and that their treatment may involve blood transfusions. Floods, on the other hand, are known to spread diseases, and therefore is relevant to to ministry.
