Stating the obvious, the name is a combination of Samsung’s two currently existing foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip. Moreover, the report also seems to suggest that Samsung’s Galaxy Fold series will now be brought under its Galaxy Z umbrella. Sadly, the report lists no details about the upcoming phone. Naturally, that hasn’t stopped rumours of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is expected to be a follow-up to Samsung’s current plus-sized foldable smartphone. To date, rumours have suggested that the phone’s display will measure in at 7.59-inches, will utilise Samsung’s Dynamic AMOLED display technology, and even include a 120Hz refresh rate.
Further rumours also point at the Galaxy Z Fold 2 being fitted with a main camera module similar to the one used in either the Galaxy S20 Ultra or S20 Plus, and that the phone will have a battery capacity somewhere between 4500mAh and 5000mAh. Lastly, the chipset within the phone could very likely be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or 865+, although in our case, we could wind up getting the model with the latest Exynos SoC. In any case, this is all just hearsay at the moment and we’ll just have to wait until at least Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event to see if the rumours are true. Until then, take this with a very large grain of salt. (Source: SamMobile via Hot Hardware // Image: @WaqarKhanHD via Hot Hardware)
