The OnePlus Nord Buds CE are equipped with large 13.4mm dynamic drivers encased in a hard shell similar to the classic Apple AirPods instead of having soft silicone tips. Users can choose from four audio profiles through a OnePlus phone or the HeyMelody app by accessing the equaliser. The device comes in white and grey colour options and media is controlled by tapping on the top of the stems, though it seems there’s no way to change the volume directly from the earbuds. Each earbud only weighs 3.5g while the case is 33g. They are rated for IPX4 water and dust resistance, with the company claiming that the earbuds are safe to use in the rain and can handle sweat when working out. While they lack active noise cancellation, the earbuds boast noise cancellation during calls, which blocks out wind and background noise. They also feature 94ms ultra-low-latency as well as Fast Pair support with Bluetooth 5.2 when using the Nord Buds CE with a OnePlus smartphone. The battery life is where OnePlus seems to have cut corners to achieve its cheaper price point. While the regular Nord Buds can last up to 30 hours with the case, the Nord Buds CE can only last a total of 20 hours. Even the battery life for a single charge has been reduced to only 4.5 hours. On the other hand, the brand claims that 10 minutes of charging will get you an extra 81 minutes of use. The OnePlus Nord Buds CE will be available in India and will cost INR2299 (~RM130). That is less than half of the price of Nord Buds, though as of now, the company has yet to announce its availability and pricing for other regions. (Source: OnePlus India)
