It turns out that the Malaysian Reno6 series differs in terms of specifications from versions that were launched in India, albeit sharing the same designs. For the local release, the Reno6 packs a 5G-enabled Mediatek Dimensity 900 chipset, while the Reno 6 Z is equipped with a Dimensity 800U 5G SoC. Both devices come with a RAM capacity of 8GB and an internal storage size of 128GB, as well as featuring OPPO’s RAM Expansion technology which allows you to convert up to 5GB of storage into an equivalent amount of RAM.
Display-wise, the duo sports the same 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate and up to 120Hz touch sampling rate. Meanwhile, housed within a punch-hole cutout on the top left corner of the display is a 32MP selfie camera. Another differentiating factor between the two devices are their battery capacities. The OPPO Reno6 comes with a 4,300mAh battery, whereas the Reno6 Z model features a slightly larger 4,310mAh capacity. Additionally, featured on the former is a fast charging speed of 65W via SuperVOOC 2.0, while the latter instead features a lower 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 capability.
In the camera department, both the Reno6 and Reno6 Z are equipped with the same triple camera setup which consists of a 64MP main shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide angle, and a 2MP macro sensor. However, featured exclusively on the former is a Color Temperature sensor that aids the camera system to produce accurate colours in every shot. The new OPPO Reno6 5G and Reno6 Z 5G are priced at RM 2,399 and RM 1,699 respectively. Pre-orders for these devices are available starting today until 13 August 2021 via the brand’s official physical stores and website, authorised dealers, telco partners, E-comm partners, and chain store partners.
