The PMCO SEA League is a 4 week league taking place in Shanghai where 24 of the top PUBG teams from around Southeast Asia are currently competing for a prize pool of $66,000 USD and the right to progress to the PMCO SEA Championship which will in turn lead to the PMCO Global Finals set to take place in Kuala Lumpur this coming November/December.
At this stage of the competition, all the teams participating in the PMCO League are vying for one of the top 16 spots in the league table which will secure them a place in the SEA Championship. Furthermore, there is extra incentive for the Malaysian teams in the competition to try and outdo each other as the top ranked Malaysian team in the league will earn direct to the PMCO Global finals. At the end of the second week of competition, we see that the Thai and Indonesian teams have been dominating the competition for the most part.
As of right now, the reigning Malaysian PUBG National Championship winner Yoodo Gank currently leads all Malaysian teams at 13th place in the overall standings, with Team Secret also currently holding on to a top 16 spot. Meanwhile, the other Malaysian teams have been struggling somewhat as they are currently still fighting to get out of the bottom third of the table.
Having said that, the Malaysian teams have also had a couple of highlight moments for themselves as well, with Yoodo, Team Secret, ViP Squad and Bapak Ah each having secured at least one chicken dinner for themselves so far. Furthermore, all of the Malaysian teams that are not currently in the top 16 are within 40 points of the 16th place team, meaning that they will still have a very high chance to catch up and secure a top 16 spot in the remaining 2 weeks of the SEA league.
We wish all the teams competing in the PMCO SEA League the best of luck and we hope to be able to see all 5 Malaysian teams continue to the next stage!
