In a post (aha) that the national postal service published on its Twitter and Facebook, Pos Malaysia shared an Ookla SpeedTest result using the Internet connection at Jasin Post Office that is apparently powered by TNB’s fiber network. The result was quite impressive, to say the least:
A huge thank you to Minister @GobindSinghDeo, @Ishsal and @SKMM_MCMC for providing the Rakyat with affordable high-speed internet! pic.twitter.com/ULQPvjLnC0 — Pos Malaysia Berhad (@pos4you) December 3, 2018 Another interesting thing to note from the result is the name of the ISP in the test result which is City Broadband. It is actually the old name for Cyberjaya Broadband which was operated by SHTech, a company that TNB has acquired earlier this year. Prior to TNB’s acquisition, the company made it to the headlines for launching a 1Gbps plan in Cyberjaya. It is indeed exciting to see the potential capability of the network but once again, let’s not forget that TNB’s project is still in the pilot phase. While there was a report which said that TNB will expand the project to more areas soon, it is rather wise not to raise so much expectations for the time being. (Source: Pos Malaysia via Amanz)
