Speaking to SamMobile, Samsung stated that the glitch allowed a “small number” of users brief access to other customer information such as names, addresses, and the last four digits of their payment cards. The company explained that the data leak was unintentional, and was a result of a technical error occuring on their UK-based website.
Samsung then removed the ability to log in to their online store until the issue was fixed, told a spokesperson to The Register. They added that affected users will be contacted with further details. As mentioned earlier, the company assures that the infamous “1,1” incident from last week is not related whatsoever to the breach.
