One of them is the support for ultra-wideband (UWB) which is also available on selected Galaxy devices such as the Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Fold2. The other difference is that the Plus model comes with a feature called AR Finder that utilises UWB.
This particular feature allows users to pinpoint their Galaxy SmartTag+ through a more interactive experience and with better precision. Naturally, you also need a UWB-equipped Galaxy device to use AR Finder. Just like the standard Galaxy SmartTag model, the Plus variant also utilises Samsung’s SmartThings Find network which roped in tons of other Galaxy devices throughout the world to expand the coverage beyond the reach of normal Bluetooth connectivity. The device is also equipped with a speaker that would emit a loud ring once the user gets closer to it. It also has a clicker that can be used to remotely trigger functions for other IoT devices within one’s home. In terms of pricing, the Galaxy SmartTag+ usually goes for RM 149 per piece but Samsung Malaysia is currently offering it for RM 109 until the end of this month over at its online store.
