[ORIGINAL ARTICLE: 29 June – 8:13pm] The Helpdesk feature on MySejahtera now allows students who are furthering their studies abroad to submit an application to get early COVID-19 vaccinations. The Special Committee on Ensuring Access to COVID-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV) tweeted that the steps were by choosing Helpdesk, click on Start followed by Vaccination Appointment. Students then can choose option A, which says “I am a student and need to travel to study abroad.” Regarding those who have previously applied through email, JKJAV stated that their applications are still valid and being reviewed.
According to Khairy Jamaluddin, JKJAV coordinating minister, 5,621 students had applied for early vaccination for their overseas studies. KJ reminded students that being vaccinated is a requirement for them to enter countries where their universities are located. These applications are especially important for those who have already received their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine as the second dose requires an interval of 12 weeks. Khairy earlier specified that the interval would be reduced on a case-by-case basis for students going overseas. (Sources: The Star, NST, Malay Mail)
