In essence, the Light Phone 2 is quite akin to a feature phone. You can make calls, and send texts with it, and it comes with a few basic tools like a calculator and an alarm. You can also listen to music or jot down notes. But that’s about it. There’s no social media, no email even.
On its website, the makers of the phone say that it will never have things that keep you scrolling. The only things that you’ll find on it are tools to get things done. It’s weird that emails are also bundled under the distraction category though. But because there’s so little reason to use it, it’s 950mAh battery – as well as the E-ink display – allows it to last two days of use. For it sever lack of features though, the Light Phone 2 still costs US$350 (~RM1468). It’s currently up for pre-order, with deliveries planned for around the end of October.
