On the surface (pun not intended), it seems to be like any other true wireless earbuds, its distinctive look notwithstanding. You get touch controls that help you navigate music and calls. There’s an additional feature on Android that allows it to automatically play music on Spotify that’s appropriate for you in that moment. It’s impressive, but no explanation was given as to what makes it possible.
In addition to the usual features for music, the Surface Earbuds seems to be loaded with productivity features. Specifically, the Surface Earbuds’ key feature is to be able to allow you to create captions on Microsoft Powerpoint in real time. This is possible with Azure Cognitive Services, which will also help translate in real time to over 60 languages. The Microsoft Surface Earbuds will come with a price tag of US$249 (~RM1044). They will be available later this year, but the company has not given an exact date. The same goes for local pricing and availability details.
