A group of senators from both sides of the political divide introduced a new piece of legislation. It’s called the Defending America’s 5G Future act. Essentially, it makes it so that the Trump administration cannot remove Huawei from the Entity List.
In another uncommon case of unity in today’s US political climate, the country’s politics has kept the future of Huawei in the state of uncertainty. Two months ago, the company has been cut off from US companies. A month later, it was shown the possibility of a parley, and now that possibility is in jeopardy. Of course, the Chinese tech giant has got contingencies of its own. The company has been pushing the development of its own OS, and has been filing trademarks for its possible names. It’s also pretty far ahead in development, as an international version of it is said to be ready by Q2 of 2020. (Source: The Verge)
