While you might have heard of Mi 8 Pro before but based on the image that Xiaomi Malaysia posted (and subsequently removed) from the launch event listing on Facebook, we might be looking at the Explorer Edition instead. This is due to the fact that the image depicts the unit with a transparent back and in-screen fingerprint sensor.
If the image is accurate, then the device should also offer 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage alongside 3000mAh battery. Aside from these differences, the rest of the Mi 8 Pro/Explorer Edition specs are relatively identical with a standard Mi 8 including 6.21-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, dual 12MP rear camera, and 20MP front camera. As for the Mi 8 Lite, we are looking at a device with a 6.21-inch Full HD+ display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. The phone also comes with a dual camera that utilizes 12MP and 5MP sensors alongside a 24MP front camera, a physical fingerprint sensor, and 3350mAh battery.
For now, the pricing of neither devices in Malaysia is not yet known. Nevertheless, do prepare yourself to visit Authorized Mi Store in Pavilion KL, AEON Bukit Tinggi Klang, Kuantan City Mall, and Imago KK Times Square Kota Kinabalu on 10 November if you have planned to get your hands on either Mi 8 Pro or Mi 8 Lite.
